SINGAPORE - ELYSIUM, the Matt Damon-Jodie Foster sci-fi pic from DISTRICT 9 director Neill Blomkamp debuts at no. 1 with US$732,909 from 46 screens (including IMAX) for a US$15,933 screen average. Also new this week is the biopic jOBS which start with US$161,466 from 16 screens for a US$10,092 screen average.
Other debuts include the edited M18-rated version of the horror omnibus TALES FROM THE DARK PART 2 奇幻夜 (US$33,058), Steven Soderbergh's BEHIND THE CANDELABRA (US$20,823) and the Robert DeNiro-John Travolta thriller KILLING SEASON (US$23,160).
New but unranked are the Dante Lam mixed martial arts drama UNBEATABLE 激战 and the FilmGarde exclusive TINY TIMES 小时代.
YOSSI, the single print Israeli drama has grossed US$10,452 after 3 weeks. (Box office figures for the first two weeks were not published)
Overall, the box office grossed US$1,989,325, or a 36.9% decline from the last weekend and a 7.10% decline from the same frame a year ago when THE EXPENDABLES 2 claimed the pole position.
